Going by the rest of the reviews I've read, this seems to be a fairly regular occurance. We paid for tickets, were told to "sit anywhere" and were then asked to leave our seats almost an hour into the show -- before the headliners even got onstage! A very rude security guy came over and curtly told us that the booth we were seated in was "reserved" for someone else and that we had to move. We asked why no one had put a reserved sign on the table if that was the case and were informed that they didn't feel that was their responsibilty. We attempted to talk to a manger about the situation and were basically told to take a hike. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer and I can promise that I will never come back to this unprofessional, backwater dive ever again. I'll also be sure to warn anyone else who ever mentions the Fat Cat in my presence. This place is a disgusting, ghetto dive with overpriced drinks and zero understanding of what good customer service is about. I have worked in food service for over 8 years and have NEVER seen customers treated so poorly. It's a complete travesty. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Fat Cat at all costs.
Great Place! Concerts and Dancing. FatCat has really come around. Probably one of the least-ghetto places to go on the weekend nights for dancing. Great band shows of both local and national talent. The staff is dedicated to providing a fun, safe and drama free environment. I've been to all the clubs in downtown Modesto and Fat Cat really stands out on top. Always remember that the crowd defines the atmosphere. Fat Cat really draws a great crowd.
DON'T GO!. This place use to be good and crackin with decent people, but now its trashy, sticky and barely anyone goes. I have been here a lot of times and a yr or 2 ago it use to be good, but now it's really bad. The music is not good at allll, it's like techno or somethin almost all night. Not worth the cover charge at all...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Don't go.....
I?ve been to the Fat Cat over two dozen times and this past weekend was the last. When it first opened it had a cozy, comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Now it?s gruesome, dingy and feels OLD?literally old, majority of customers are 40+. Two months ago and I noticed bloood along the second floor wall, I went on Friday night and it was still there?.gross!!! The second floor smells like vommit and the VIP room smells like urine. We will never go there again!!! In our eyes, that place is finished!!!
Needs new management, the manager is very rude.
P.S. I had to mis-spell some words.
get real people.
i have been to this club several times and only for the live music. they tend to bring in great local bands and have a decent following. the security staff is not always paying attention, but when actually called upon are right to the heart of the matter. the drinks are really expensive and not very tastey, the employees are rude and unavailable for a decent conversation. customer service should be job one and is not!
if you like live music this is where to be, but if you dont...stay home!
Great place for Parties... I turned 30 a couple of weeks ago and we decided to have our party at the Fat Cat in downtown Modesto. It was a great experience. We came on a Saturday night and they had a band playing. They played dance songs that we actually knew from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.. It was really cool. Personally I hate most clubs. They a bunch of music that all sounds the same. I knew the songs the band played and it was a really fun and friendly atmosphere.
FatCat. The setting of this club is great, however the music is from back in the days, drinks are very expensive and the crowd is very snobby. Mostof the crowd is older, so if you went to school in the area you will see your old teachers here.
Great live music!. This club is a great place for live music. It has two floors in which the second is open looking down upon the dance floor. This is a 21+ venue that I wouldn't really call a meat market. Parking is not a problem and the line is not too unreasonable nor is the cover.
