Much better than other valley pet stores

To counter the poor review, I have never had anything but a good experience at Exotic. I have seen ailing reptiles, but was promptly informed that they were quarantined or recently rescued.

Prior to finding Exotic, I had naively acquired three animals from Petco and the like. All are now dead from conditions that, in retrospect, were developed at the pet store.

At Exotic, their reptile handler was informative and friendly, allowed me to handle reptiles with his supervision and even told me what foods each indvidual animal prefers.

Five very healthy and happy reptiles later, I go only to Exotic unless I need emergency crickets.

Also, never had a problem with the food except that they've run out of some worms. On the contrary they have the BEST crickets that are fed real vegetables and are very plump. The pet stores' are tiny shells of insects.

Exotic is the best in the valley, period.

Exotiuc birds & Pets

I've been working wit reptiles since I was a teenager and I still hesitate to say I have a trained eye.. I'm always open for criticism. It makes me want to be beter at what I do.

Well as far as not being knowlagable in reptiles you probably went in on my day off I'm the reptile guy at Exotic Birds & pets. the part timer you speek of is only there on my days off. Anything you wat to know about reptles; I can answer if I dont know I'll be honest and say I dont know. but give me a day or so and a call back number and I' ll definently find out for you. As far as the reptiles that look sick your probably rite there probably were a few and theyprobably were sick.. we on ocasion do take in neglected reptiles out of our compassion for animals.( thats why we work in the field that we do.) for example one of our dragons thatwe got a few months back was severely immaciated. Her owner being in the military was sent to Iraq. His Mother had no knowlege of reptiles and seldom fed the poor thing. She told Me (Her Son specificly said to bring it to our pet store.) I for one appretiate the freedom that our troops are fighting and dying for; and could not turn this Soldiers mother down. So yes on ocasion there are a few sick animals, that have a story behind them I'll be more than glad to share a few with anyone who comes and asks me. .

As for the feeder insects you aquired there hasbeen a nation wide shortage of meal worms and have been trying our best to aquire them for our customers. I'm sure as they becme redily available the quality will surely be better.

As you can see I did'nt rate our store a 5 because I would be lying

Sad place for animals

Moved away for about 3 years and could not wait to get back and go to the store were my snake love started. Too bad it all changed and now no one there knows anything about reptiles, and they all lock sick to a trained eye. ( one girl knows some but only there P.T) , and even the " live food" I got looked sick.

• Pros: Close to home if all you need is crickets
• Cons: Sick Animals Lack of Knowlage, not friendly
